Abstract (EN)

Bekir Yıldız is one of our significant authors who has branded a period with his writingsand has delivered various Works of art within the social line. His position and importance forthe Turkish literature has been through his short stories rather than his novels. This is becauseour narrating has gained a new breath as he became known in the literature community with hisstory named as ?Reşo Ağa?; and also because Turkish narrating which used to be in line withSait Faik?s depressive and covertive literature moved towards social literature that is in line withSabahattin Ali.Even if Bekir Yıldız has branded Turkish literature, we have limited this study his novels. This is due to the fact that although a lot has been said about his narrating, his novels have notbeen dwelt upon.Three of the five novels of Yıldız- Turkish n Germany, Ringed Slave and Family Wars-are based on outobiographic characters. In other words, Yıldız has narrated the events in thesethree novels without changing much from his own life. His piece of work called ?Turkish inGermany? is his first writing and his novel that ever caught attention. Even though the authorjoined the literature community with this first book that the published himself, it never caughtattention. In this work, Yıldız describes his memories from the four years he spent in Germanyand through the comparison of the two cultures-Turkish and German- he tells about ourpeople that get exhausted there due to unconsciousness. ?Ringed Slave? and ?Family Wars? aretwo boks that are the continution of each other. In these two boks, the author interrogates andcriticizes the ?marriage institution?. While he tells about his first marriage and his divorceefforts in ?Ringed Slave?; in the ?Family Wars?, he talks about his second marriage that hemade right after breaking up his first wife together with his first wife, and about the problems ofworking women. The only work of art by Yıldız whose topic is based on Islam history is the novel named as?And The Cruel, And The Believer, And The Kerbela?. The author touches upon the recentevents-12 September 1980- through the ?Kerbela? incidence that has happened in the history .On the other hand, in ?Stroke? which is the last novel of the author , explicitly criticizes and thedegenerated values following the 12 Septenber 1980 stoke. To sum up, novels of the authors are also pieces of work that are in the social line just likehis short stories.
