Ermenek District Municipality as an example of democratic participation in decisions in municipalities

Turkish management system as the central management and local management has always been in interaction with each other in terms of the functioning of democracy and divided into two basic. Local sense of democratic governance and the formation of local political culture has become in many cases as a certain historical period. Local governments, which are nowregarded as the basic institutions of democracy, are the most important institutions in which the local people, in the local sense, are allowed to participate in the government and the local self-governance. Local government representatives and minimizes the distance between voters by selecting a reality, providing süper vision and participation in the process. Interms of choosing direct participation and decision-making organ of the local people to control the most important effect in terms of democratic participation process. Although if that other factors in the decision-making process is also said that unless significant effects can not be ignored. In this study, democracy, local democracy and local government units are discussed in detail, the subject of participatory democracy has been processed and the issue of democratic participation in the decisions of Turkish municipality has been tried to be put forward. Also sample districts as Karaman Ermenek town ship municipal work, examined in terms of participatory democracy and the survey with Karaman participation in decision-making processes of local people in the Ermenek town ship and detection being able to influence this processand the analysis was performed.
