Strategic planning process in municipality: The strategic planning example of London and İstanbul Metropolitian Muicipality compare with each other

The sustainability of organizations presence totally depends on their prediction skill of fast changing World and ıts possible results in all aspects with the effect of globalization. Since organizations have to achieve their objectives with scarce resources and comply with their environment, strategic planning is a kind of mandatory for them. As a result of localization tendency in the world recenlty, local administrations and municipalities, as the most important actor of them, have come into prominence. Expectation of citizens and scarce resources bring municipalities to point to be more effective and efficient on rendering their services. In this study, preparing strategic plan and its implementation process in municipalities is being tried to explicate on a sample strategic planning model. In thıs model structure, the strategic planning example of London and İstanbul Metropolitian Municipalities were scrutinized and compared with each other.
