The effect of social media addiction and religiosity on body perception in emerging adulthood

The aim of the study is to examine the relationship between social media use, body perceptions and religiosity of individuals in emerging adulthood. The research was conducted with the questionnaire technique in accordance with the relational screening method. The display of the research includes 298 women, 101 men, and 399 people in the store, aged 18-25. Storm in March 2023 the survey formula from them via Google Forms to get data from the participants. Along with Personal Information Form, Body Image Scale, Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale and Religiosity Scale; Questions about subjective perceptions of religiosity and social media usage information include questionnaire formulas. Data analysis was done with SPSS 20.00 package program. Obtained ratios, characteristics showing the normal distribution of scale scores t-test, ANOVA, Pearson control; The part where it did not show normal distribution was analyzed using Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Spearman weighted analysis. According to the results of the research; Some positive results were found between social media evaluations and religiosity and demographic variables (excluding social environment). The effects of social media's provisions, religiosity and religious beliefs were found between sub-dimension and gender and age; between body image and income status; between religiosity and subscales, educational status and religious/spiritual expectations; The subjective perception of religiosity among religiosity has been determined in various ways. According to the documents of the research, there are negatives between social media dimension and body image; between religiosity and body image, the thought of point of view directed as a positive direction. No relationship was found between religiosity, social media and harm media.
