Benli Hasan Çelebi (Ahi) - Husn u dil (Examination-comparative text-dictionary-directory)

The Mesnevies and the prosaic works based on narration in the period of Classical Turkish Literature constitute a fundamental field of study. The similarities between these narratives and as a literary genre novel that has been appeared in Turkish literature since the Tanzimat literary era are remarkable. Various academic studies are being carried out in order to clarify these similarities and put them into practice. In this study, it is aimed to reread the comfirmed copies of the narrative Hüsn ü Dil written by Benli Hasan Çelebi in sixteenth century, to create a valid text (by transcribing it into Latin Alphabet) and to examine it in terms of its form and theme. As a beginning, some studies have been done to elicit Benli Hasan Çelebi's life and his literary identitiy and his works, and to detect and supply the existing copies of the narrative Hüsn ü Dil as well. Then, copies of the narrative Hüsn ü Dil have been detected and examined and formed a copy pedigree. As a result of the evaluations have been made, the comparative text of the narration has been presented based on six copies. The form and the theme of the narrative has been examined and its similarities to novel genre have been revealed and decoding of its symbolic language has been evaluated.
