Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of benzensulfonicacid hydrazide and some symmetric benzensulfonamide derivatives

Abstract (EN)
Benzenesulfonicacid hydrazide (bsh), N,N'-ethylenebis(benzenesulfonamide (bsen), N,N'-Trimethylenebis(benzenesulfonamide) (bspr), N,N'- tetramethylenebis (benzenesulfonamide) (bsbut) and [Cu(bspr)(phen)2] complex were synthesized and their structures were investigated by spectrophotometric methods. Compounds were evaluated for antibacterial activity against Bacillus cereus ATCC 6633, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25953, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 29212, Salmonella enteritidis ATCC 40376, Escherichia coli ATCC 11230. Bsh compound shows hightest antimicrobial activity. Compounds showed good antibacterial activity against both Gram negative and Gram positive bacteria. MIC values of compounds are between 200 and 400?g/mL. In this study, structure?activity relationships are also investigated. Antimicrobial activity decreases as the carbon chain increases.
