Prof.Dr. M.Z.LugaI GÖKSU : Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ferit KARGIN : Asist.Prof.Dr. Cem ÇEVİK In this study, which carried out between September 1998 and August 1999, the qualitative and quantitative properties and the monthly distribution of the benthic fauna were determined by monthly interval in Berdan Dam Lake. It was determined that the benthic fauna of the lake consist of five animal classis; Bivalvia, Gastropoda, Crustacea, Oligochaeta, Insecta and 22 species of these. It was found that the annual mean value of profundal fauna as the animal number per m2 was 1412. Of these 52.77% were Chironomidae and 47.23% were Oligochaeta species.
