Abstract (EN)
The world languages developing themselves in all ages always need each other in the light of trade relations, industrial revolution and other technological advancements. This case makes translation a very important necessity in our era as it was before.In this study, it was aimed to compare idioms of the target text and resources derived from the theatre play `Drei Groschen Oper? written by Bertolt Brecht who is the establisher of the Epic Theatre. Specifically, a translation critic was materialized by taking into account the cultural features in the Turkish translation of idioms exploited by Brecht in this masterpiece.In the introduction part of the study, general concepts on translation were reviewed. Types of translation, written translation and its features, specifically theatre texts as a literary genre, equilibriums of their translation and translation critics were accentuated. Again in the introduction part, General information was presented on Bertolt Brecht and his play `Drei Groschen Oper?, which is considered to be one of the first plays in a review of a German theatre. In the second part of the study, a critical perspective was presented in the translation process of the idioms by basing on the cultural differences between two languages in this masterpiece. The third part of the study is the conclusion part.
