The problem of death and immortality acording to Bertrand Russell

Despite the thought of Wittgeinstein ? Death is not an earthly concept ?, death is waiting to find us in an unknown place and time as the end of the lives of all. Death faces with us as the unique truth giving meaning and value to our existence. It has an important place in almost all religious beliefs whichever period it belongs as well as having an immense place in the history of thought as one of the indispensable subjects of ontolojical and religious philosophy.Though Bertrand Russell admits the scariness of death for man, he suggests Stoic Courage against death opposing philosophical and religious beliefs that accept another life after death. According to Russell, humanity, due to emotional reasons such as ?fear, the desire to be with his lost relatives, unhappiness and injustices in this world, and keening on himself ? has turned towards adopting the belief in death. However, this belief coudn?t be effective in man?s supressing his fears against death.Russell doesn?t accept the validity of proofs related to the truth of the belief in immortality and states that the truth of this belief is not likely to be proved through science.
