Özet (EN)
As livestock has been inadequate to meet basic nutritional needs in recent years, it is tried to be developed by taking a number of importance. This study aims to determine how the support and development studies applied for animal production in Turkey are met by producers. In the study, topics such as determining the level and effects of producers benefiting from the supports applied to feed cattle, measuring the satisfaction levels of the producers from the supports, identifying the problems encountered while benefiting from the supports were examined. The main material of the study is the data obtained by surveys conducted in 2019 with 85 producers determined by layered incidental sampling method among the feeders in Antakya district of Hatay province. Five-Likert scale was used in the evaluation of the supports of the feeder producers. According to the findings, the majority of feeders produce only animals. Family labor use is quite common in businesses, and the majority of processing owners have 10 years or more of feeding experience. It has been determined that more than 90% of feeders do not produce rough and cut the feed and are dependent on feed factories and other producers in this regard. Feed and animal purchase expenses account for more than 80% of the costs of feeders. Calf support is the type of support that is most used in the support applied for feeding within enterprises. In contrast, the level of benefit from support such as feeding male cattle support, vaccination support, animal disease compensation support, and feed crops support was very low. It was determined that the level of support knowledge of the operators before they started feeding was only 19% and that the provincial and district directorates were among the main sources of information during the feeding process. It has been observed that the level of satisfaction with calf support, which producers benefit from the most, is close to moderate. Feeding enterprises find the support applied in animal husbandry to be 85% inadequate. A large part of feeder producers demands increased support amounts and prevention of increases in input prices. The necessary procedures for receiving support should be arranged in favor of the feeders and studies should be carried out to get more support. It would be a more realistic policy to try to reduce rising meat prices with support for domestic feeders than imports.
