Abstract (EN)
Cities are living beings, together with the civilizations living in them, they also live, mature, carrying traces of every civilization leaving the future. In our country, where many civilizations lived, one of the cities with the deepest traces of history is Istanbul. The Beşiktaş district of Istanbul is also home to many natural, historical and cultural beings, and these values need to be passed on to future generations and kept alive. For this purpose, it is important to ensure the protection and continuity of these values. It is possible to realize this by keeping the inventory of natural, historical and cultural values and showing the necessary care. Classical Geographic Information Systems (GIS) provide to be presented spatial data of a geographical area resulting from the use of data gathering, editing, querying and analyzing capabilities to be integrated with multimedia data such as text, photographs and videos related to these data. In this respect, the Geographic Information System users can see through the data such as photographs and videos without having to go to the historical cultural structures, and they can be informed thanks to the shared text about the structures. The Web-based GIS also makes it possible to present the products obtained via the and to transfer and share spatial information and map services with other users. GIS is an important tool for preserving historical, cultural values, ensuring continuity and transferring them to future generations. The inventory of the values we inherited from the past in the earth we live in can be kept with GIS. With Web based GIS, it is possible to provide convenience to people who want to be informed about these values. In this study, location, photographs and information of historical cultural values belonging to Beşiktaş district were collected, a database was created and a Geographical Information System was prepared. In this GIS created, the photographs and texts belonging to the historical cultural structures were integrated in the system for the users who are researching or curious about the historical cultural assets of Besiktaş district. QR codes were shared for the tourists who want to visit these assets and the routes for their interests were created based on the best distance. Finally, a Web-based GIS was created by using this prepared culture map with the help of an online server and sharing it on Internet.
