This study aims to understand the language of original works that contemporaryTurkish composers have produced in terms of rhtym and melody. Among the aims of thestudy, there is also the issue that how the work, text, melody and rhythm are connected bythe composer. Within this context, in this study, there have been researches on techniques and systems that contemporary Turkish composers have used in their polyphonic choralworks in terms of rhythm and melody.In the sample of the research, there are six polyphonic choral works chosen fromthe target population of the study.The method that is used in the research of works in terms of melody and rhythm,is John D. White's micro- analysis method. The micro- analysis method in question, hasbeen used by being adapted for the aim of the research in the works that have been mentioned above.It is thought that the data obtained at the end of the analyses made will provide help for composers, performers and researchers.
