Abstract (EN)
Choosing the pavement type of the roads is of great importance in highway construction and pavement renovation works. The task of the concrete used in road pavements is to prevent the deformations that will occur by transmitting the loads coming from the traffic to the base floor. In order to do this, the rigidity of concrete roads is utilized. Concrete roads, which are classified as rigid pavements, are exposed to environmental effects. Durability is very important in concrete roads, as in other construction elements. Sometimes there may be deformation and cracks in concrete roads. In order to be able to maintain and repair these cracks, they must be completed without being adversely affected by the flow of traffic. Cement mortars are also used for maintenance and repair, as well as repair mortars that gain strength quickly. In the case of using these repair mortars, it takes approximately 2 hours for the road to open to traffic. In this thesis, it is aimed to carry out the maintenance and repair of damaged concrete roads using sulfur mortar in a shorter time than the current practice. In the study, sulfur mortars were produced with 0%, 50% and 75% quartz sand additives. Properties such as setting time, pressure, bending and point strength, shrinkage and friction coefficients of the mortars were determined. The adhesion and shear stress with the concrete surface were determined. According to the results obtained, although the properties such as strength of sulfur mortars are slightly lower than cement mortars, they can be opened to traffic in a shorter time if they are used in road repair. Sulfur mortars can be used as an alternative to cementitious mortars. Keywords: Repair of Concrete Roads, Concrete Roads, Anhydrous Mortar, Sulfur Mortar
