Abstract (EN)
An investigationwasmade on the overstrengthcoefficient in accordancewith the conditionsspecified in TSC 2018 whichcameintoforce on January 1, 2019 and introduced as a newregulation on the analysis and design of the buildings. Inthiscontext, necessaryliteraturereview has beenmade and 18 types of buildingmodelswereprepared in linewith the designprinciplesstated in TSC2018. Thesemodelsaredesigned in 3 differentbuildingheightsincluding 4, 7 and 10 storeys. Foreachbuildingheight, a model withframedstructuralsystemwascreatedtoserve as a reference model foreachbuildingheight. Inadditiontothesemodels, modelswith 6 differentreinforcedconcretewallratios of ‰ 0.5, ‰ 1, ‰ 1.4, ‰ 1.7 and ‰ 2 weredefined in accordancewith the regulationsstated in Article 7.6.1.3 of TSC 2018.These 18 types of structuralmodelsweresubjectedto 36 linearanalyzeswithEquivalentSeismicLoadMethod and ResponseSpectrumMethodforlinearanalyzes in ordertoexamine the changesbetween the old (TSC2007) and recentregulations. As a result of theseanalyzes, it wasseenthat the periods of the buildingsincreasedwith the conditions in TBDY 2018 and the shearforcesdecreased, that is, the structuresexhibitedmoreductilebehavior. The general purpose of thisthesis is todetermine the overstrengthcoefficientvaluesaccordingto TBDY 2018, ResponseSpectrumMethod is used. Inordertodetermine the overstrengthcoefficients, staticpushoveranalysiswithlumpedplasticbehaviorwaspreferred. Inordertoinvestigate the effect of varying in the plastichingelength on the overstrengthcoefficient, 6 differenthingelengthswereusedforeach model. A total of 108 nonlinearanalyzeswereperformedforthissection. As a result of theseanalyzes, it wasobservedthat the varying in the hingelengthdid not make a difference in the regionupto the yield limit of the push-overcurve. Inordertoexamine the effect of rigiddiaphragmacceptance on the overstrengthcoefficient, 6 types of modelsdesiredwereanalyzedwith 3 differentplastichingelengths. A total of 162 analyzeswereperformedfor the 18 types of buildingmodelsprepareduptothispoint.Although the obtainedoverstrengthcoefficientsarebelow the valuesstated in TDY 2018, all of themaregreaterthan 1. Thismeansthat the structuresprovidesufficientstrength. Inthiscase, it is concludedthat the design of the structuralsystemwithRC wallarearatio of ‰ 1for the buildingsto be constructed in residentialtypewill be the optimum solutionif done carefully. It is recommendedtousemoreRC wallratioifbuildingimportanceincreasesorifstoreydisplacementsaredesiredto be restricted.
