Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is examined to determine the performance levels of structural systems under earthquake effects by using Displacement Coefficients Method placed in FEMA 356 and Capacity Spectrum Method placed in ATC 40. For this purpose, eight storey reinforced concrete 3D shear wall system structure designed in accordance with Turkish Earthquake Code 1975 is considered to determine the performance level of structure. Performance level of structure designed on Z1 soil type in accordance with Turkish Earthquake Code 1975 is determined by using the Displacement Coefficients Method placed in FEMA 356 and Capacity Spectrum Method placed in ATC 40. In addition, the performance level of structure is determined by assuming designed on Z4 soil type. The results are given with graphics and tables about the performance level of structure designed in accordance with using soil type. Life safety (LS) structural performance level is chosen as a target for the model structures under a design earthquake that may be exceeded in a 50 year period with 10 percent probability.
