Abstract (EN)

In this study, computer-assisted analysis and preliminary design of 22.50, 32.50 and 37.50 m span reinforced concrete bridge with precast I-beams, according to AASHTO 2002 specifications are performed. During the analysis and design process, in order to neglect the effects of foundations to the upper structure, bridge pier bases are assumed as fixed supports. In all models, same type of elastomeric supports are used between the piers and the beams, and vertical, horizontal, torsion and rotational rigidity of these elements are calculated under the influence of earthquake loading. In order to find the most critical loading condition, the different combinations used and load combination with the most adverse effect is chosen. After preparing models of end and middle piers for three bridge models, effects of loads from different spans on these models are examined in detail. For all three models, performing seismic analysis, the horizontal and vertical deformations etc. are calculated and compared.
