COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN OF WOODEN FORMWORKS FOR CONCRETE (M.Sc.Thesis) Gökhan DURMUŞ GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY August 2002 ABSTRACT In this thesis, the computer software to calculate, lateral concrete pressure according to ACI 347, CIRIA Report 108 and DIN 18218 methods was developed using AutoLISP. This software can calculate lateral concrete pressure, determine optimum dimensions and spacing of formwork members it can produce 2D and 3D drawings of the formwork and it can also calculate cost of the proposed formwork. As a result of comparative studies, it was proposed to use ACI 347 method for low concrete filling rates, and DIN 18218 methods for high concrete filling rates.
