Abstract (EN)

It is very important to limit the horizontal displacements of the system in the analysis and design of structures under the effect of earthquake loads. Due to their monolithic and rigid nature, reinforced concrete structures are the most damaged and collapsed structure in earthquakes. In the literature, it is predicted that beams, columns and curtains, which constitute the structural system of the building, play an active role in determining the horizontal and vertical displacements and periods of a reinforced concrete structure. Also Turkey Building Seismic Code (2018) in determining the ductility of structures, columns and beams, the type of slab and load impact further movement pattern is important. Therefore, in this thesis, the effect of different curtain placement types on the behavior of the structure under earthquake loads has been investigated. For this purpose, buildings with 8 different curtain placements in the plan are modeled as 4, 6 and 8 floors in line with the principles of TS500 and TBDY (2018). The earthquake calculations of the modeled buildings were made according to the equivalent earthquake load and mode combination methods. ZC is taken from the local soil class geotechnical report. As a result of the analysis, the natural vibration periods, base shear forces, and floor drifts of the buildings were compared. In this context, in order to see the effect of the change in the number of floors in the beam slab curtain systems, the buildings were designed as 4, 6 and 8 floors, and the building models were created by selecting the floor heights of 3 meters on all floors. Earthquake calculations of the buildings were made with SAP2000, finite element software.
