Effects of reinforced concrete prefabricated systemson the architectural planning process: Administrativeoffices in The Organized Industrial Zone of Gazi̇antep

Human beings have incessantly been engaged in the action of producing since existence until now. Prefabrication building systems have begun to be used due to the emergence of the concepts of mechanization, fast production, serial production and quality, and due to seeking for new construction systems to meet the demands for (new) buildings. This study aims to determine the problems with the planning of administrative office sections of industrial buildings by the prefabricated construction system, to find out the features that restrict design and to suggest solutions upon the evaluation of the provided data. As the methodological approach for the attainment of the purposes of the thesis; the layout of the administrative office section, spatial planning decisions, and the production system characteristics of the construction system were determined as the main headings and the parameters set through these headings are investigated on 4 buildings. As a result, the thesis has identified systemic limitations on architectural design and construction planning, set forth expandability opportunities in buildings constructed by prefabricated concrete building systems, determined the properties, details and problems caused by loadbearing, storage and assembling criteria of the prefabricated concrete building system and suggested solutions for these problems.
