Abstract (EN)

In our country located in earthquake zone, it is of great importance to determine the safety of structures before and / or after the earthquake, and to avoid asset and loss of lives after possible earthquakes. In this study, four different methods which are developed and used frequently in practice are dealt with in order to determine the damage conditions of existing structures. The methods covered in the study are the Canadian Seismic Scanning Method, the P25 Method, the Linear Elastic Calculation Method proposed Turkish Earthquake Code in the 2007, and the Principles Regarding the Determination of Risky Structures (RYTEİE2013). The purpose of the study is to compare some methods used to determine the damage situation in a possible earthquake and the prevalence of the risk of collapse of reinforced concrete structures that make up a very large part of the existing structure and is to develop a rapid assessment method that can be used safely in this region. In addition, the reliability of rapid assessment techniques is being investigated in comparison with the TEC-2007. In the scope of this study, 4 evaluation methods were applied to concrete structures selected in Manisa region to represent existing building stock and the damage cases of these structures were investigated and the results obtained were compared. The study consists of sixs parts and the first part is the introduction. In the second part, detailed information about evaluation methods is presented. In the third section, 4 different method analyses of 30 different existing reinforced concrete structures selected to reflect the building density of the Manisa region were conducted and the results obtained are presented in detail. In the fourth chapter, the general structure of the region in Manisa is investigated and a building geometry is defined to represent this region. In this structure, the parameters obtained by selecting variables such as the strength of the concrete, reinforcement property, number of floors, overhang and soft floors were evaluated with 4 different methods. In the fifth chapter, a new rapid evaluation method was developed by combining all the obtained parameters. The results obtained are presented in detail in comparison with TDY-2007 and the reliability of the developed method is presented.
