Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the effects of the use of chemical additives and corrosion inhibitors on the physical, mechanical and durability properties of concrete as well as the corrosion of the reinforcement in concrete were investigated experimentally. In this context, the effects of chemical additives and corrosion inhibitors used together in preventing corrosion were investigated, and the effect of natural boron inhibitor in preventing corrosion was revealed for the first time. In the study, four different chemical additives and three different corrosion inhibitors were used. The chemical additives used are set accelerator, set retarder, super plasticizer, hyper plasticizer, and each additive was used at a rate of 1.5%. Corrosion inhibitors are calcium nitrite-based corrosion inhibitors and boron corrosion inhibitors obtained from natural boron; each inhibitor was used in the amount of 20 lt / m3 in mixtures. In addition, a surface applied inhibitor was used to determine the effect of only the concrete cover thickness on corrosion. The concrete series created within the scope of the thesis are divided into four different groups. These are; series containing only inhibitors, series containing only chemical additives, series containing chemical additives and boron inhibitors, series containing chemical additives and calcium nitrite. They were exposed to the standard curing environment in the curing pool for 28th and 90th days. Unit weight and ultrasonic pulse velocity tests were conducted to determine the physical properties of the samples produced, and compressive strength were determining the mechanical properties. As a result of the studies, when boron inhibitor and chemical additives are used together, they increase the durability properties by decreasing the permeability. BORHAK90 sample increased the initial crack formation 10 times and reached 361 hours. The same sample series increased the electrical resistivity values of concretes by 77.91% compared to the control sample. The rapid chloride permeability value of concrete samples containing boron and super plasticizer additives decreased by 96.02%. Surface-applied inhibitor, the probability of corrosion in samples with diameters of 100 mm and 150 mm at half-cell potential values decreased by 25.7% and 38.4% compared to the control sample.
