Abstract (EN)

Dealing with the history of the city of Çorum during the period from the principalities to the Ottoman period was very difficult, especially due to the limited resources in the period of the principalities. However, the limited number of studies on the medieval history of the city has increased this difficulty even more. Nevertheless, chronicles, travel boks, legends, numismatic Works and finally Ottoman Archive documents were examined and the deficiencies in this field were tried to be eliminated. The city, which came under Turkish rule with the Danishmends, was under the rule of Seljuks, Ilkhanians, Eretna Principality, Kadı Burhaneddin Ahmed Principality, and Ottomans, respectively. Here firstly, the establishment of Ottoman rule in the city after examining the period of principalities is discussed. We had the opportunity to touch upon the social, cultural, administrative and economic aspects of the city of Çorum, whose political history was explained in the period of Principalities, thanks to archive documents kept in the Ottoman period. As a result, this study examines the four centuries-old period from the period that started with the Turkish domination to the first rule of the Ottoman Empire.
