An analitical evaluation of monumental bulidings in Bilecik-Osmaneli

The aim of this thesis is to make the analytical analysis of the monumental buildings of Osmaneli, which are also our cultural heritage. Firstly, Osmaneli and its architectural structure were researched and a study of structural materials and techniques was made. After that the monumental buildings which will be studied detailed were chosen, in order to analyze them, the plans of the houses were found that had been studied before, and plans were prepared for the rest that had not been studied yet. These plans were used to analyze the construction systems and techniques. Among the monumental buildings different type of the buildings were chosen in order to examine different techniques and materials. The choosen buildings and their specialties are; Rüstem Pasa Mosque: The oldest and biggest mosque of the region that was made of stone and brick. Hg. Georgios Church:Built at the end of the 20th century. The walls are made of stone and brick, the ceilings are made of wood. The missing dome is thought to be made of brick. The houses of Ellezler, Cebecioğlu and Mehmet Özden: These residential buildings are the typical silkworms houses. With this study, the monumental buildings of Osmaneli, this is one of the rare residential areas that could be preserved, has been studied, analyzed and the construction techniques and the structural materials, which are about to be forgotten, have been documented.
