Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT The aim of this thesis is to examine local area network technologies in view of design criterias. For this purpose, present and developing network technologies are studied compared with each other. As an example, a network design for Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University was designed. Also predictions and comments on the future of network systems are stated. Key words: Computer networks, OSI, wireless network systems, Ethernet, network protocols LAN topologies.
