Abstract (EN)

The goal of this study was to determine the effect of computer assisted teaching practices on the cognitive, affective and psycho-motor achievement levels of 9th grade secondary school students who were taking volleyball unit teaching.This research is an experimental study and it is designed as pre-test and post-test with experimental and control groups.58 student at 9th grade who studied at a secondary school of Çubuk town of Ankara during 2007-2008 educational year, participated this study.Physical education and sport atitude scale created by Demirhan and Altay (2001) was used in order to determine the affective area attitude levels. Volleyball and attitude test prepared on this basis of annual plans and table of specifications for 9th grade classes in which used in order to determine the cognitive area attitude levels of students.Observation forms based on the overhead pass, forearm pass, serve and spike skills were used in order to determine psycho-motor achievement level.Data were analyzed by using SPSS 11.0 and One Way ANOVA were used. As a result of this study, it was found that there was no significant difference in cognitive and affective areas for traditional teaching method. It was found a significant difference in psyco-motor area fot overhead pass, forearm pass, serve and spike.By using computer assisted instructional teaching method, it was found difference in cognitive area but it wasnt significant. In affective area there was a significant difference between groups pre-test and post-test scores. There was a significant difference between groups in psycho-motor area for overhead pass, forearm pass, serve and spike.Finally, in order to determine whether there was a difference between two instructional method. It was found a significant difference in affective area in favor of computer assisted instructional method. However, there was no difference in cognitive area.For psycho-motor area, it was observed significant difference between two methods in favor of computer assisted instruction for overhead pass, forearm pass, serve and spike skills.Key Words: Computer Assisted Instruction, Traditional Instruction, Volleyball.
