Abstract (EN)
Electricity meters are devices for measuring the amount of electrical energy used in a certain time period. While connection power of the meter is measured in kW, consumed electricity is measured in kilowatt hours (kWh). Electricity companies record their customers electricity consumption through meters and bill them. In the old years, these operations were carried out by expert staff who had how to read mechanical meters meters. With the development of technology, the meters become digital, thus consumption measurement and invoicing process has become more practical and reliable. Digital meters must also be able to go through calibration processes to record accurate consumption parameters and display the measured values correctly. The working principle and efficiency of the calibration devices are directly based on constant current and voltage. These devices consist of two parts, the measurement and the power part. The power part is the most important section that contains constant current-voltage-power and power factor. In this study, it is focused on creating the constant power, which is the most basic parameter, to make the calibration process properly. Thanks to constant current and voltage, the constant power created in the device allows a constant energy to be passed over the meter and it is provided to calibrate the current, voltage and energy (power) sections of the meter with high sensibility. In the calibration device, which is the subject of the study, adjusting the line frequency and angle (power factor) besides the current, voltage and power parameters provides a great advantage to the user. Current, voltage and power parameters of each phase can be adjusted independently from the device. Thanks to the constant current and voltage power supply, both manual and automatic calibrations of electronic smart meters are performed. Owing to the automatic calibration option, number of the production rates and costs are reduced. Moreover and easy to use, the device can be controlled simultaneously over the touch screen and the developed application software.
