The evaluation of the apprehensions of the teachers teaching in the elementary schools, in where there is a computer laboratory, about computer-aided instruction applications (Adana city sampling)

This study has been conducted in order to find out whether there are any differences between the apprehensions of the teachers teaching in the elementary schools, in where there is a computer laboratory available, on the ?Computer-Aided Training? applications, which have been commenced in elementary schools by the Ministry of National Education.The research has been applied in 30 randomly selected elementary education schools from the central districts of Adana city in 2006-2007 education year. The sampling of the study has been composed by 291 teachers teaching elementary education schools in central districts of Adana city. In determining the conceptions of the teachers on pre-mentioned subject, a questionnaire that was formerly prepared for another similar study was employed. In the comparison of the findings gained from the questionnaire, frequency distributions and X2 (chi-square) technique and variance analyses have been applied.The findings obtained from the studies have been summarized in the following:The teachers have been emphasizing that Computer Training is required for CAT (Computer-Aided Training) and that CAT is required to be initiated within Science and Technology courses in elementary education schools. It has been emerged from this study that being able to obtain prospering results from the CAT, which is providing flexible and comfortable education and training environment, is depended on the education statues and attitudes of the teachers implementing this programme, and that, for the just-mentioned reason, the teachers, who have undergone a computer training in various courses, are required to be trained in CAT applications as well.Key Words: Computer Training, Computer-Aided Training.
