Investigation of cyber human values of science and art center students: A case in Samsun province

The aim of this study is to determine the current cyber human values perception of the students studying at the Science and Art Center in Samsun province and to examine the contribution of the trainings carried out in this center to the development of cyber human values. The research was conducted with a total of 401 students, 208 students from Samsun Science and Art Center and 193 students from Atakum Science and Art Center in Samsun province. Case study method, one of the qualitative research method, was used in the research. With the research, the cyber human value perceptions of the students studying in Science and Art Centers were determined and their differences according to various demographic variables were examined. In addition, the opinions of the students regarding the contribution of the trainings carried out in these centers to the development of cyber human values were also examined. In the study conducted in the 2022-2023 academic year, the "Cyber Human Values Scale" developed by Kılıçer, Çoklar, and Özeke (2017) was used to measure the level of cyber human values of students. As a result of the research, it was concluded that students' perceptions of cyber human values were above average, female students had higher perceptions of cyber human values than male students, students with low digital competencies had low perceptions of cyber human values, while students with high digital competencies had high perceptions of cyber human values, cyber human vulae perceptions decreased as the duration of internet use increased, and students cared most about respect and truthfulness values in digital environments.
