Abstract (EN)
Aim: The research was conducted to determine the effect of mindfulness-based informative approaches applied in hemodialysis patients on reducing stress and managing symptoms. Material and Method: This research was conducted as a real experimental model with a control group. The universe of the research; It consisted of 160 dialysis patients registered in Atatürk University Research Hospital Hemodialysis Unit and Health Sciences University Erzurum Regional Training and Research Hospital Hemodialysis Unit. The sample of the study was determined as a total of 120 hemodialysis patients, 60 in the experimental and 60 in the control group, as a result of the power analysis. After the pre-test application, a mindfulness-based stress reduction program was applied to the experimental group. Data; The information in the data collection tools was read by the researcher and collected through face-to-face interviews with the patients. In the analysis of the data collected in the research, percentage, frequency, chi-square analysis, t test for independent groups, t test for dependent groups were used. Results: It was observed that the difference between the Perceived Stress, Beck Anxiety, Conscious Awareness Scales and Dialysis Symptom Index post-test scores of hemodialysis patients in the experimental and control groups after mindfulness-based informative approaches was significant at the p<0.05 error level. The t-test analyzes of the differences between the Perceived Stress, Beck Anxiety, Conscious Awareness Scales and Dialysis Symptom Index pretest and posttest scores of hemodialysis patients in the experimental group were found to be significant in favor of the posttests (p<0.001, p<0.01). Conclusion: It was found that mindfulness-based informative approaches decreased the perceived stress and anxiety of the patients in the experimental group, increased the levels of mindfulness and symptom management, were effective on the Conscious awareness Scale, Dialysis Symptom Index post-test scores, and the program applied had a positive effect in the experimental group.
