Investigating the relationship between information technologies teachers' virtual loneliness, occupational burnout and psychological well-being

It was aimed to investigate whether there is a relationship between virtual loneliness, occupational burnout and psychological well-being of IT teachers. 81 informatics teachers working in Siirt province participated in the research. Data was collected using the Virtual Environment Loneliness Scale, the Maslach Burnout Scale Trainer Form and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. The Personel Information Form prepared by the researcher has been used in order to determine participants properties. Independent Sample T-Test, Mann-Whitney U Test, ANOVA and Pearson Correlation Analysis were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the research, it was determined that there is no significant relationship between virtual loneliness and occupational burnout and psychological well-being but moderately positive relationship between virtual sharing dimension and occupational burnout, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. In addition, it was determined that there was a moderately negative relationship between occupational burnout and psychological well-being. It has been concluded in this study that the age, the voluntary choice of profession, time spent on social media per day and the preferred bachelor's degree program result in significant differences in the professional burnout of IT teachers and their psychological well-being. It has also been determined that these variables do not make a significant difference in the dimension of virtual environment loneliness.
