Abstract (EN)

In this study, the crimes defined in Article 244 of the Turkish Penal Code No. 5237, under the heading "Crimes Against Society," in the third part, in the tenth section titled "Crime in the Field of Information Technology," under the heading "Obstructing, disrupting, destroying, or altering the system," The study begins with definitions of concepts related to information technology to facilitate a clearer understanding of the subject. Subsequently, the elements of the crime type under Article 244/4 of the Turkish Penal Code are identified. Subsequently, the emergence of the crime type and its development to date are examined, approaches to the subject in the doctrine are discussed, and relevant court decisions regarding the crime are analyzed and compared. Given the rapid and ongoing advancements in the field of information technology, this study was chosen as its subject matter to examine the impact of information technology on the legal field, as crimes committed in this field have also increased proportionally.
