Abstract (EN)

Programming is the name given to the lines of code written to solve any problem using a programming language. Teaching programming logic is the first and most important step of programming teaching. The rapid change and development in the field of technology increases the need for qualified people in the software industry. It is extremely important to reveal the importance of technology and programming, which has increased influence in all areas of our lives, and to deliver the education given in this field to every student. In this context; The subject of this study is; What is the opinion of Information Technologies and Software course teachers about coding education, their in-service training and the level of dissemination. Within the scope of the research, the opinions of 30 Information Technologies and Software course teachers working in public and private schools in Sakarya Province were taken with open-ended questions and the opinions were analyzed with techniques suitable for qualitative research methods and presented in tables. The method of the research was case study as the qualitative research method. For the thesis, a semi-structured interview form was used with 30 Information Technologies and Software course teachers working in Sakarya province and their opinions were taken. Study Group of the Research; 30 Information Technologies and Software course teachers working in Public and Private Schools affiliated to Sakarya Provincial Directorate of National Education. Easily accessible sampling method was used in the study. According to the results of the research; The vast majority of Information Technologies and Software course teachers stated that they have a high level of knowledge about coding education and that they think digital transformation is necessary and beneficial. According to the results regarding the general situation of coding education, it was stated that coding education was insufficient. It has been stated that the majority of the teachers of Information Technologies and Software courses receive in-service training, but the number of teachers who are not aware of these activities and who have not received in-service training is also high. The majority of teachers emphasized the dissemination of code education and solving the infrastructure problem. According to the results of the research, Information Technologies and Software course teachers stated that they were adversely affected by the problems they experienced during the coding education process, and that they had problems with the lack of infrastructure, technical problems and school administration. According to the results of the research, it was seen that in-service training activities and code training knowledge levels did not differ according to their demographic characteristics.
