Abstract (EN)
Today, the energy problem is among the problems that are emphasized in the field of architecture, as in other fields. The main solution developed in the field of architecture to this problem is energy efficient design. However, it is seen that the issue of energy efficiency in the field of architecture is mostly associated with building technologies in the later parts of the design at the material scale. It is necessary to reproduce the studies in which the design is handled as a whole and to start with the form decisions before the material in the first phase of the planning, to consider the energy efficiency issue as a shaping input and to create the building compositions with this input in order to make energy efficient architectural designs. In this context, within the scope of the thesis, it is aimed to determine the optimum architectural forms that provide maximum energy gain from the sun in the climate region, and to reduce the heating load consumed in the buildings, by evaluating the energy performance of the current interpretation of the existing building typologies designed with shaping approaches and the variations created by deforming the modernist typologies. Accordingly, the location where the fieldwork will be conducted has been determined as Ankara. In the study, the form parameter was considered as geometric and organic architectural forms, unlike other studies. Primarily, basic geometric forms and derived variation geometric forms were created. Then, organic form models derived from basic geometric forms and derived variation geometric forms were created. Finally, the south-facing facades of the organic forms created were deformed by bending vertically and the building type classification table was created. Within the scope of the field study, solar radiation analyzes of 30 different architectural forms, whose large surfaces are oriented to the south, were made using the Design Builder simulation program. As a result, it has been seen that the curvilinear organic form buildings, which are shaped by following the sun's axis of movement horizontally and the sun's angle with the earth vertically, provide more solar energy gain. It is expected that the obtained data will be a source for future studies and a helpful base for design data in different situations.
