Abstract (EN)
The main objective of this dissertation is to develop a model that may be instrumental in simulating the payback period and the CO2 emissions and determining their minimum values in buildings having hybrid while satisfying the HVAC and domestic hot water loads. Technical, economical and environmental variables were considered and an Excel based simulation program was established. The simulation program assists the user to seek, sustanable and efficient solution keeping in mind the needs of users. The technically iterative outputs of this study are optimal equipment capacities and their, electricity and natural gas consumptions. The program also reports economic outputs of the study are total investment cost, total operating cost, total cost and the payback period. The environmental report of the program is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. In perticular, in this thesis, the sensivity of economic and environmental results on the load share of the cogeneration unit were investigated. The calculation of building loads is not included in this study. Instead the existing building loads of Eser Green Office Building were used as an input in the case study. As a result of the study, the payback period of Eser Green Building was found as 4.1 years. The payback periods for two innovative design cases were 4.9 years and 3 years, respectively. The carbon dioxide prevented with hybrid systems are 492 kg CO2/h and 615 kg CO2/h for innovative first scenario and second scenario, respectively .
