Abstract (EN)
In this work, in which the fire safety measures have been examined in a generalframework, it is aimed at determining the decisions that should be made asregards to fire safety issue in the planning phase. In this thesis, the concepts ofburning and fire have first been analyzed and then some basic knowledge hasbeen provided. Afterwards, the effects of fire on the buildings and the measuresto be taken in the design phase of the buildings have been examined.Furthermore, the fire safety measures to be taken in the buildings have beendiscussed in some scales namely the material of the structure, the components ofthe structure, building and settlement. Moreover, in this thesis, some checklistshave been set up in the direction of BYKHY in order for the architect totransfer his/her decisions regarding to the fire safety measures to the designprocess. In the Conclusions and Suggestions section, the designer has been givena flowchart regarding to design decisions for buildings with fire safety.
