Abstract (EN)

Building fires have been frequently encountered in our country from the past to the present, and very serious losses have occurred in these fires, and they still continue. In fact, these losses can be prevented with active and passive fire safety measures that can be taken. With passive fire safety measures, which are the most effective among these measures, the necessary measures are planned while the building is still under construction and included in the building project. Thanks to these precautions, possible fires can be prevented more effectively. However, in 2007, "Fire Safety Building Regulations" was issued for the measures that can be taken against buildings. In this study, the Gümüşhane University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Science building was investigated under 14 titles determined in the "Fire Safety Building Regulations" and it was evaluated whether the building complies with the provisions determined in the regulation. The risks identified because of the evaluation were presented both in tabular form and analyzed using the Fine Kinney method. The results showed that Gümüşhane University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Science building was not in compliance with the regulation in 4 of 14 titles in "The Fire Safety Building Regulations", there were some deficiencies in 5 titles and compliance with the regulation in 5 titles. In addition, in the risk analysis, the boiler room, fire exit stairs, lighting, hydrant system, and external fire exit stairs were determined as very high risk.
