Evaluation of meadows of Kılçadır village in Bingöl province in terms of yield and quality

This study was carried out in 2022 to determine the forage yield and quality of meadow areas within the borders of Kılçadır village in Bingöl province. The research area consisted of eight different parcels. Plant height, green forage yield, dry matter yield, the rate of legumes, grasses and other family plants in botanical composition by weight, crude protein rate, crude protein yield, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake (DMI), relative feed value (RFV), phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium values were examined for each of the meadow parcels. Statistically significant differences were found among the plots for these traits. Among the yield traits in the meadow parcels, plant height was 34.1-51.3 cm, green forage yield was 1491-2600 kg/ha, dry matter yield was 330-552 kg/ha, and in the botanical composition by weight, the rate of legumes varied between 14.7-28.1%, the rate of grasses varied between 27.0-74.0%, and the rate of other family plants varied between 11.3-53.4%. Among the quality traits in meadow parcels, crude protein rate was 15.6-20.1%, crude protein yield was 55.0-110.8 kg/da, ADF rate was 23.9-28.3%, NDF rate was 38.6-45.9%, DDM rate was 66.9-70.4%, DMI rate was 2.62-3.11%, RFV was 135.6-170.0, phosphorus rate was 0.27-0.35%, potassium rate was 2.13-2.32%, calcium rate was 1.43-1.62% and magnesium rate also varied between 0.37-0.43%. As a result; it was concluded that the meadow parcels gave satisfactory results in terms of yield and quality and the parcels numbered 205/6 in terms of yield and 204/7 in terms of quality gave better values.
