Abstract (EN)

In this study; Mathematical modeling and performance optimization of a heavy-duty air compressor has been carried out. Modeling of the system and optimization of performance parameters were carried out using experimental data obtained from a test system. Initially, the parameters that will affect the performance of the system are determined and optimized for the desired purpose. Due to the large number of parameters of the system and the width of the search intervals, the number of experiments and the optimization space have become very large. For this reason, the required number of experimental tests was determined using the Taguchi experimental design method. A mathematical modeling of the system was made in order to calculate the compressor's inputs versus outputs over the experimental data. The validity of the obtained mathematical model was verified experimentally. Parameters such as speed, coolant flow rate and coolant temperature, air temperature, air pressure and air flow rate are the performance and efficiency of the compressor. The operating parameters of the compressor have been optimized for purposes such as minimum energy consumption, maximum air flow, minimum filling time, optimum air pressure. The effect of the optimum parameters obtained after the optimization on the system performance was investigated experimentally. The results of the studies are given in the form of tables and graphs.
