Özet (EN)

Digital games have gone beyond being mere tools of entertainment and have become dynamic narrative environments where cultural memory, identity, and values are reproduced. The concept of play has been addressed with its historical, sociological, and folkloric dimensions; the transformation of mythological elements during the transition from traditional forms of play to digital platforms has been analyzed. The relationship between games and mythology has been explained through the lenses of ritual, narrative, and representation. In this study, which is conducted through a general literature review, a descriptive analysis and Axel Olrick's Epic Laws were used for the content analysis of selected digital games. The study evaluated how myth-based games construct character design, use of space, and narrative structures with mythological references. Particular attention was given to how mythologies with deep cultural significance are interpreted in digital games and how they are associated with users, within the context of the nations to which the games and their mythological content belong. In this context, it is shown that digital games have significant potential for the production of modern myths. By reshaping traditional narratives in digital forms, games transmit mythology to contemporary users and support cultural continuity. Through the participation of the player, mythological knowledge is internalized experientially. Thus, an interactive process of cultural learning emerges in the digital environment. By contributing to the reinterpretation of mythology in a contemporary context, digital games have taken their place in the virtual world as a new form of cultural transmission.
