Abstract (EN)

This study aims to apply the fuzzy Best Worst Method (BWM), a Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) technique, to the vehicle selection problem of a car rental company. Vehicle selection is a critical decision for the successful operation of a small-scale business. In the first stage of the study, the significant criteria for vehicle selection were prioritized using the fuzzy BWM method. Subsequently, the fuzzy weights obtained for each criterion for each vehicle alternative were used in the ranking process through the fuzzy CoCoSo method. Simultaneously, decision problems in various fields often involve multiple criteria, and the goal is to select the most suitable alternative for a solution. Newly developed methods under the umbrella of MCDM contribute to resolving such complex problems. The car rental industry, facing similar decision problems due to factors like customer demands, vehicle types, and rental processes, copes with the diversity in this context. In this context, this study applies the hybrid fuzzy BWM-CoCoSo method to the vehicle selection problem of a car rental company. The method's ability to interpret linguistic expressions provides a significant advantage in the decision-making process. The results of the application guide the car rental company in making an economically viable vehicle selection that aligns with long-term customer demands. This study contributes significantly to the improvement of decision-making processes for small-scale car rental companies and the effective utilization of fuzzy logic-based methods to gain a competitive advantage.
