Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effects of a magnetic field on the flow velocity and heat transfer in a pulsatile flow of an electrically conductive fluid with circular cross-section in a channel were numerically investigated. The numerical study was conducted using the ANSYS Fluent package program based on the finite volume technique. In line with the obtained results, firstly, a new study that has not been previously conducted in this scope was added to the literature. It was observed that the pulsatile flow with magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effects in laminar pipe flow has an influence on the fluid motion and heat transfer. The magnetic field decreased the flow velocity and increased the amplitude and Nusselt number, thus enhancing heat transfer. In low-frequency values (F=0.01 – 1), the highest Nusselt number was observed in the acceleration region of the flow (F_τ=0.5), while the lowest Nusselt number occurred in the deceleration region (F_τ=1.5). The presence of the magnetic field prevented the formation of the circumferential effect at high frequencies. By performing analyses for four different magnetic field values (B=0 T – 0.05 T – 0.1 T – 0.15 T), it was concluded that there was a noticeable effect in the fluid behavior at the first magnetic field value (B=0.05 T), but high magnetic field values had little influence on the flow behavior. These analyzed results will assist in future research and developments.
