Bir devlet üniversitesinde çalışan tecrübeli ingilizce öğretmenleri, yöneticiler ve mesleki gelişim birimi üyelerinin mesleki gelişim algılarının incelenmesi

This study aims to assess the professional development perceptions of experienced EFL teachers, administrators and professional development unit members working at a state university. To this end, convergent mixed method design was utilized to gain a better understanding of the research question. Professional Development Questionnaire developed by Ekşi (2010) was employed to the teachers in the quantitative phase of the study while semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers, administrators and professional development unit members within the institution in the qualitative phase of the study. For the analysis of quantitative data, descriptive statistics was performed and mean scores, standard deviations and frequencies were calculated through SPSS. Qualitative data was analysed through content analysis. The findings indicated that the participants have overall positive attitude toward professional development. All the participants shared similar perception regarding the professional development needs, activities, barriers and delivery methods and formats. Based on the findings, the current study provides some implications for all the stakeholders, and limitations and further suggestions for future studies.
