Investigation of the effect of a natural education project on the environmental emotional and cognitive features of secondary school students

The aim of this study is to examine whether the gains continued by reapplying the scales applied in the project 1 year after the nature education received by the students who participated in the nature project supported within the scope of TUBITAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools and whether there is a difference between them and the students who do not participate in this project. For this purpose, scale was applied to the experimental (students who participated in the project) and control (students who did not participate in the project) groups to determine their attitudes on the subject on environmental sensitivity, love of nature, environmental behavior and environmental awareness. In addition, qualitative data were collected with semi-structured interviews and memoirs in the study. According to the quantitative findings of the study; there is no significant difference in the size of the sensory and bilicic properties of the environment. According to the qualitative findings, the students developed positive attitudes towards the environment after the project, increased sensitivity to the environment and cultivation, and stated that they would be more sensitive than before.
