Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to make measures against terrorism in educational in social studies in secondary school level, to lead to trainings in this context and to ensure that secondary school students have a correct perception of terror. The nature of the research was modeled by qualitative research method. In qualitative research, the focus is on the process in general. The process is about understanding. The researcher is always the determinant of the process. It is the researcher who directs data collection and data analysis. Qualitative research is a process that moves from specific to general In the study, phenomonological model was used from the qualitative research designs. Research consists of two applications. The first application was made in 2014-2015 academic year spring semester and the second one is in 2016-2017 academic year fall semester. The first application was carried out in 8 different cities and the second one was carried out in 4 different secondary schools in Sakarya. Application was made with 638 students at 5-8 grade level. Interview that the most commonly used data collection tool was used in qualitative studies. A structured interview form was prepared with six questions based on expert opinion. Students' personal information was not received and only the gender was determined. In data analysis, descriptive analysis and content analysis were performed. When the students' perceptions of terror are examined, it was reached to the main themes in which the terror practitioner is depicted with their personal characteristics as taking lives, blood-thirsty, negative personality and psychological characteristics, disorganiser, provoking and affecting people, non-human. As a result of terrorism, people are affected socially, psychologically and economically. The students were emphasized that "education is important about the prevention of terrorism, if it is necessary, armed struggle can be made and reconciliation can be achieved or the necessity of many penalties in particular to the death penalty and the necessity of protection from them and security measures.
