Abstract (EN)
The human factor has an important place in working life. Today, the importance given to human health is increasing in business environments. Employees are facing with many problems such as material and equipment, physical conditions, layout plan in the working places. These problems affect the health of the employees and as well as cause reductions on their working efficiencies. This study was carried out in a working place which is produces aluminum profiles in high hazard class. Ergonomic risk assessment methods have been examined for manual handling. Manual Handling works that are performed during the production has been defined and one of the ergonomic risk assessment methods, Key Indicator Method (KIM) has been applied. Relevant legislation studies have been included by conducting a literature search. In order to make risk assessment, the products that are most being carried by hand during production were determined by Pareto analysis. Risk factors that employees may encounter in manual handling operations have been determined and an ergonomic risk assessment has been made. As a result of the risk assessment, it has been determined that there are high risks due to the intense repetitive work, excessive load weights, unfavorable working conditions, unsuitable body postures and unsuitable equipment. By presenting the solution suggestions, It has been ensured that manual handling is carried out in a safer manner.
