Objective: The aim of this study is to assess the work environment of nurses in terms of the Nurse-Friendly Hospital Criteria. Method: : This definitive and cross-sectional study was conducted with 1076 nurses in Antalya Training and Research Hospital between January-May 2021. The "Personal Information Form" and "Adapted-Revised Nursing Work Index" were used for collecting data. CHAID analysis was used in the analysis of the data. Results: Among the nurse-friendly hospital criteria, "control of nursing practice" (3.11±0.86), "middle management accountability" (3.29±1.06) and "quality initiatives" (3.20±0.74) were the highest ranked criteria by the nurses participating in this study, while the criteria of "competitive wages" (1.53±0.56), "professional development" (2.51±0.86) and "competence of the chief nursing officer" (2.63±0.99) were ranked the lowest. The personal and professional attributes of the nurses that affected the hospital's overall mean score of nurse-friendly hospital criteria the most were adequacy of physical conditions (F=77.042, p=0.000) nurse turnover rate in the last year (F=24.726, p=0.000) and pattern of shift work (F=6.888, p=0.029). Conclusion: The study showed that, on the basis of the nurse-friendly hospital criteria, nurses perceived their work environment slightly positively over the medium level, and that adequacy of physical conditions was the parameter that affected the nurse-friendly hospital criteria the most. Key words: Nursing, Work Environment, Nurse-Friendly Hospital Criteria.
