Abstract (EN)

Keywords: MCHF method, HFR method, energy levels, Landé g-factors, allowed transitions, forbidden transitions, wavelengths, oscillator strengths, transition probabilities In this study, the allowed and forbidden transitions of singly ionized magnesium (Mg II, Z = 12) were investigated using the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock (Multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock–MCHF) and the relativistic Hartree-Fock (Relativistic Hartree-Fock–HFR) methods. The relativistic energies and the Landé gfactors for ns (n = 4–9), nd (n = 3–9), ng (n = 5–9), ni (n = 7–9), np (n = 3–9), nf (n = 4–9) and nh (n = 6–9) configurations and the transition parameters, such as wavelengths, oscillator strengths, and transition probabilities (or rates), for the electric dipole (E1) and electric quadrupole (E2) transitions between these levels were calculated for Mg II. In the first chapter, previous works on Mg II were given. The second chapter deals with the multiconfiguration Hartree-Fock and the relativistic Hartree-Fock methods. The results obtained using the MCHF atomic structure package and the Cowan's program package were compared with other works in the last chapter. Good agreement was found between our results and other available studies.
