Lee strasberg's method acting as an interpretation of Konstantin Stanislavsky

Some theoretical and practical conceptions manifested upon art of acting throughout historical process. From Russian theater Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky, was one of those who had put forward some conceptions on acting praxis. Stanislavski named his approach as System Acting which was based on a realistic acting style; and thereafter he stimulated many theater practitioners to reveal on their own system. One of those names was Lee Strasberg from American theater who put forward his own acting approach based on Stanislavski's work. With this system which is named Method Acting, many actors trained both on stages and motion pictures, by focusing on realistic acting style. In this work, it is researched how Stanislavski's System Acting was theoretically and practically reinterpreted by Lee Strasberg and implemented on his Method Acting. In this work, inquiring with qualitative research method, the main aim is modeling an example of practicing for people who want to develop a new acting practice with these reviewed practicing processes. At the first part of this work, Konstantin Stanislavski and System Acting are reviewed. How System Acting came out, developed and which definitions and terms came with are analyzed at this phase of the work. At the second part of this work, Lee Strasberg and Method Acting are reviewed. At this phase of the work, the main terms of Method Acting being focused on; and some exercises in frame of these terms are mentioned.
