Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to develop a supported employment model in line with the data obtained by describing the transition of adults with intellectual disabilities to community-based working life. The participants of the research consisted of individuals with intellectual disabilities, parents, workshop support personnel from the Installation Workshop for the Persons with Disability, production supervisors, human resources officers, typically developing employees from community-based enterprises in Eskişehir Organized Industrial Zone, members of the thesis advisory and monitoring committee, members of the validity committee and the researcher. The research was designed with action research and carried out with the stages of the situation determining the situation and implementation. In line with the findings obtained within the scope of the research, vocational preparation services offered to adults with intellectual disabilities in the Installation Workshop for the Persons with Disability and the processes of placement in community-based businesses are described. In the implementation process of the research, a supported employment model was developed in order to place individuals with intellectual disabilities in community-based businesses within the scope of pre-placement, placement, and monitoring stages. In this direction, action plans were developed and implemented under the headings of individual and business evaluation, preparation and implementation of the vocational training program, business development, and job matching, job definition based on job analysis, on-the-job training and coaching, and monitoring.
