Özet (EN)
In this study a single-cylinder two stroke gasolin engine has been converted to a compressed air engine and axial running electromagnetic valve mechanism and a prototype were prepared to open and close the intake valve at the desired time. An electronic circuit having Atmega8 microprocessor was produced to manage the work of the engine and the performance experiments were performed by determining the timing of the most appropriate intake valve (Emaks 40º, Emaks 50º, Emaks 60º and Emaks 70º). The experiments were performed at the constant throttle and different working pressures (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22 bar). According to the experiment result, Emaks 60 was decided to be the most suitable intake valve timing for all the working pressure due to the fact that it has the highest volumetric effiency. Engine efficiency was found to be at intake valve timing Emaks 60º, 20 bar working pressure, 1000 1/min engine speed 22,16 % and its engine moment, 2.92 Nm and engine power 306 W.By using the engine performance values obtained from experiments and MATLAB program, an ANN which has R2 value is 0.99858 was modelled for engine torque and the estimation of air consumption flow rate. The predictions with high accuracy by the ANN were observed when the result obtained were analyzed.
